# Nameservers wijzigen

Een nameserver is een server die aan elk domein, zoals .nl of .com is gekoppeld en bepaalt waar de website of e-mails moeten worden afgeleverd. Elke server heeft een uniek IP-adres. Als je een website bezoekt, zoekt het register de juiste nameservers op, waarna de bijbehorende server het IP-adres voor je browser bepaald. 

Standaard heeft je domein dat via Thirdwp is geregistreerd drie nameservers: 

* ns1.thirdwp.xyz
* ns2.thirdwp.xyz
* ns3.thirdwp.xyz

Je kunt ook andere nameservers instellen: 

1. Log in op het klantengedeelte 
2. Ga naar Domeinen -> Mijn Domeinen 
3. Selecteer "Beheer Nameservers" in drop-downlijst naast het betreffende domein. 
4. Kies tussen "Gebruik Standaard Naamservers" of "Gebruik Aangepaste Nameservers". 
5. Als je voor de aangepaste nameservers kiest, voer deze dan in het daarvoor bestemde tekstvelden. 
6. Klik nu op "Verander Nameservers" 

**Let op!** Als je de nameservers veranderd, kunnen domein- en e-mailinstellingen in je cPanel mogelijk tijdelijk niet werken. Houd er dus rekening mee dat wijzigingen tot 24 uur kunnen duren, voordat deze werkend zijn.
